Fishing Reports

July 10, 2008 - Captain John reports that nice sized Fluke are sitting out on the many lumps in 50 - 65 feet of water. We had a decent trip to the Sea Girt Reef and picked Fluke and Sea Bass. For those who don't know the reef, it is a short run for us out of the Manasquan Inlet and we're there within 30 minutes. The rough bottom provides santuary from the draggers while providing structure for baitfish and opportunities for Fluke to feed to their hearts content. We drift the bigger baits in search of those keepers.

TOURNAMENTS COMING UP - There are great opportunities to book SASHIMI for upcoming tournaments. Call Captain John for details. Also don't forget our business entertainments trips. What a nice way to say thanks to your important clients with a nice trip aboard CoastwideCharters.

June 15, 2008 - Coastwide Charters captures 3rd place in JCAA Fluke Tournament.Tom Patierno landed a 5.8 lb Fluke out at Manasquan Ridge.

This fatty was caught using BIG BAIT!. Coastwide Charters doesn't skimp on the bait. We always carry extra large Peruvian smelts, whole squids and other appropriate fresh baits.

NEW FLUKE REGULATIONS ARE OUT !

New Fluke / Summer Flounder regulations are out. Larger, 18" fish are required now to be keepers and the season will be May 24th through September 7th. We see this as a challenge, but we will work even harder to put fish in the box. It means large baits (which we always prepare the night before our trips) and having the experience to know where the larger fish are generally feeding. You'd be surprised to know that there are some big fish lurking right here in the Manasquan River.

STRIPPED BASS ARE WAKING UP !

The season is almost upon us and the bass are starting to stir. It's a matter of a few weeks and some warm weather and the cows will be heading through the canal to their secret breeding areas. Come join us on those moon lit nights to see if you break the 50" mark.

WE'RE BOOKING FLUKE TOURNAMENT DATES. Why not make some $$$$ for nailing the big one. It makes the trips that more exciting.
